They chose Berkshire Hathaway Home Services because of the firm’s superior reputation in the high end, luxury property segment. However, Nancy Jones initiated the couple’s real estate interest in 2003 when she became a licensed real estate agent while the couple was living in New Jersey. It was in New Jersey that she honed her skills in real estate and learned that she, not only had the interest, but also the aptitude in the luxury property market.
Joe Jones has a strong sales and marketing background and began his career with Stanley Tools located in New Britain, Connecticut. Throughout his 25 year career with the company he advanced through multiple assignments of increasing responsibility in numerous locations, culminating in his appointment to president and general manager, Stanley Tools Worldwide. During this time the family was exposed to a variety of geographical locations including an assignment in the United Kingdom where their youngest son began school. Joe also held positions of president and general manager of two divisions with Ingersoll-Rand. Joe earned numerous awards throughout his career including two “Business Week” Design awards. He co-authored Under Presssure, U.S. Industry and the Challenges of Structural Adjustment edited by Catherine Stirling and John N. Yochelson. Joe’s sales, marketing and general management experience provide him with an excellent background in sales, marketing, project management and negotiations.
Joe and Nancy have been active in a variety of charitable and trade organizations throughout their careers to include Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Junior League and YMCA. Nancy is currently a member of Junior League of Indian River and Hibiscus Children’s Center. Joe is involved in volunteer activities through their church.
Joe and his wife Nancy bought a home in Vero Beach in 2003 after a comprehensive search of many potential locations in Florida. It did not take them long, after many years of company relocations, to realize that Vero Beach was truly unique and “the” place they wished to make their permanent home.
